I am currently finishing my MS degree in Information Technology and I know a good bit about computers. I have known Jason for a while now and in desparation I called him yesterday. I was having extreme computer problems that even I could not correct. I had contracted a kind of rare virus that no antivirus program or system software was fixing. I tried them all including AVG, Avast, Anivir, Malware fixing programs, etc. I researched my college text and even researched on Google for a solution with no luck. I really thought my computer was unfixable and that I would have to reformat the hard drive to bring in back to life thus losing all my data. Even though I thought I had done everything possible I knew if anyone could possibly have a solution it would be Jason. I even doubted Jason was going to be able to fix this one. I gave him a call and within 5 minutes my computer was fixed! He was able to diagnose the problem over the phone and emailed me a custom script that I ran and it complety saved my computer. I had given up all hope and Jason saved the day. I highly recommend Jason and you would be wise to call him first. Wish I had!

We're seasonal residents in Florida who are getting long in the tooth, but hey, we're trying to learn. We have a couple of Macbooks, and we needed to set up a wireless network pronto, and to figure out other stuff so that we could handle things seamlessly between our two laptops. Jason was happy to come by on the weekend, he didn't laugh, or suppress a laugh, at our lack of knowledge, and he got stuff done in a short time that wold have taken us hours--and even then we probably wouldn't have figured everything out. Then, after he left, we had another problem. No problem, though. Not for Jason. He came by the next morning and took care of what needed to be taken care of. We are soooo happy to have found somebody that we can count on. That makes all the difference to aging boomers. Jason, all we can say is thanks for being so responsive and responsible.

I located Jason and Cobalt Computer consulting by searching for assistance through Google. In short, I would recommend him at the highest level for his competence and most importantly, for his perseverance! He solved a router and booster issue that has persisted for over a year and others were unable to correct. I plan to schedule quarterly reviews with him to continue my education and updating of hardware and software.

Not the GS!

I recently had the GS out to repair our desktop. After going through all of the motions to schedule an appt (press 1 for english, leave a mesg and someone will call you back in 30-45 min, etc) we were able to schedule an appt for 3 weeks out (first available day a tech would be in my area, then someone would need the be there between 8 and 12). When the tech called to tell me he was on his way I asked if he could also look at our laptop while he was there as it was running very slow. He advised me that he could not because that was not on his work order. I would need to call and schedule any additional work. The tech was able to get my desktop up and running again. 2 weeks later we had a different problem with the desktop - I reluctantly called the GS again only to be told it would be 4 weeks before a tech could come out. Thats when I decided to look for someone local that has pride in his work. After reading several reviews, I called Cobalt and wow, Jason answered the phone. He came out that day and not only fixed our problems but took the time to explain everything he was doing as well as give us some advise going forward. It was a real pleasure dealing with Jason and after meeting him once I consider him a friend. I have since started using him for my business as well. I will never use a company like the GS again. I can assure you that this is my first review and I have no agenda.

After never having technical issues, I recently tried turning on my MacBook Pro and OSX would not load. After some trouble shooting I finally took the computer to Apple. They had no answers for me. They suggested I purchase software that would "may or may not" retrieve SOME data from my hard drive.....I am an audio engineer/producer and I have priceless music sessions that I desperately needed because I had not recently backed up my files (huge mistake). I searched for dozens of computer repair companies and most wanted $40/$50 just to take a look! I called Cobalt Computers and spoke with Jason. I met up with him and he took my computer for a few days. He told me he has never seen a Mac hard drive fry up so badly! When all was said and done, Jason retrieved my priceless information, installed a new hard drive and reloaded my software. He was Extremely reasonable on pricing and the turnaround time was very fast. Besides his professionalism, knowledge, and work ethic, Jason is a very nice person whom you could consider a friend after speaking to just once. Thank you so much for everything Jason!!!

Saved the Day!

Jason was very professional, punctual and knowledgable. I am a snowbird and had no local resources and thankfully I found Colbalt Computer and Jason. I inadvertantly lost settings, email accounts and the internet connection on my husband's computer and Jason was able to fix all the problems before my husband returned from his golf game! Jason was honestly the most helpful Cobalt employee I could've asked for My monitor wouldn't turn on and being in college I was freaking out. I called Cobalt and spoke with Jason. Jason was an excellent representative and solved my problem in a matter of minutes. He was truely a life saver :)

I dropped my laptop off the corner of my couch and I crack my screen inside and I freaked out because I had just gotten it in Feb. I went to best buy and talked to the geek squad and they told me that I would need to buy a new laptop or it will cost me a lot of money to get it fixed.So I went home and got on my sister's desktop and searched for companies that fixed computers and maybe I can save myself some money. I called a lot of places and when I was just about to give up I called Colbalt Computer's and Jason answered and said that he was able to fix my screen on my laptop for a great cheap price and he did.My laptop was fixed fast!! He did a great job! I am going to recommend him to whoever needs their computer fixed. He is the guy to get the job done. Thank you so much Jason.

Fake reviews

How can a person that works from their home have more reviews then Best Buy? All the reviews are 5 stars and A++++++, give me a brake. All but one of the reviews read like they were done by the same person and all done within 2 weeks in Jan 2009. So if you are willing to make up fake reviews, what else are you willing to lie about.

I apologize in advance for even responding to the comment "Fake reviews - By: myname123456" made on May 22, 2009. This is / was a flagrant attempt to tarnish my company's reputation and work ethic. Mr responses are as follows:
myname123456 stated: "How can a person that works from their home have more reviews then Best Buy?"
Cobalt Computer Consulting responds: I have more reviews than Best Buy because I specifically ask my customers to give me a review on Google. Best Buy does not. And I don't "work from home". I offer mobile computer repair services. So I go to my clients.
myname123456 stated: "All the reviews are 5 stars and A++++++, give me a brake."
Cobalt Computer Consulting responds: All of the reviews are not 5 stars. There was one FOUR STAR review before the user, named "myname123456" (probably a business competitor), came in to try to ruin my good name, credibility, and livelihood. Sad.
myname123456 stated: "All but one of the reviews read like they were done by the same person and all done within 2 weeks in Jan 2009."
Cobalt Computer Consulting responds: They were not "all done within 2 weeks in Jan 2009". But, nine of them were, because January 2009 is when I created and started marketing my website to get more business. Deciding to take Google as my marketing route, I sent an email to many of my customers/clients from the previous few weeks of work, explaining to them how to create a Google account, and asked them if they would please write a review. Thankfully, many of them did. : ) And I can assure you, that they were not all done by the same person. I can also assure you that they are all real clients of mine, and are all legitimate. In closing, I hope this explains everything, and I invite "myname123456" to please go ahead and contact me through my website or at my email address (jason at cobaltflorida dot com - or - cobaltflorida at gmail dot com) anytime, if they would like to question me further on the credibility and authenticity of these reviews. Again, you can see from this users comment that, this is not a customer/client that I did work for. This is a merely a person that purposely created a fake Google account just to post a slanderous remark. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone.

I recently had Cobalt service not only one computer, but even the back up was down! For a very fair price and high quality service, I would HIGHLY recommend Cobalt Computer Repair to ANYONE who is in need of service! Extremely Professional and Courteous and came to our location!!! Can't beat that! If you trust dropping off all of your personal information and walking away not knowing who is doing what with it, then I suggest GeekSquad, but if you want personal service that is affordable and most of all reliable and your computer never has to leave your location, you need Cobalt! If you don't believe me read the other reviews!!! I have learned through past experience, that reviews can be very informative and true to fact!!!!!

Jason's my former protege and competitor in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and I can fairly say he's mastered the art of personalized customer care and has even expanded upon his knowledge of PC-based computers by learning the Mac. For home and small business users, you won't find a more kind, more capable helpdesk-style technician. I've admonished him not to be so inexpensive. You better hope he doesn't take my advice, because his current rates are far below his worth! I would know. I've been in this business since 1991.

I needed a simple laptop repair and my unit seemed to take up residence in a well-known big box's repair shop. When I finally got it back, the fix was not sufficient because some functions still were not performing. One phone call later and Jason from Cobalt came out in a timely manner. He proved to be very capable and fixed my remaining issues. Now, I only trust this guy with my laptop lifeline and would highly recommend that if you have a problem that you contact him first. I assure you that after you do ... he will be your only contact for your repair needs too.

Jason is a top notch computer guy. He's my go to guy for everything tech wise from now on. Not only did he clean out all of the viruses from my computer and get it running like new again, but he had answers to many of my other questions, and explained them to me so that I could easily understand them. I recently called Cobalt Computer Consulting for repair to my wives lap top because it would not load and would crash all the time. About two months prior to calling Jason we used Geek Squad. Like I said that was two months prior and it was worse than before and I was out over $350.00. Jason not only repaired our lap top but also took the time to educate us on the reasons why our lap top was getting viruses and was crashing. Jason has great rates and I would recommend him to any of my friends which I rarely do or even take the time to write on a website. No Geek Squad "Call Cobalt so you don't throw your computer at the wall out of frustration".

We have hired Jason (Cobalt Computer Consulting) for issues we HAD with Vista as well as setting up our complex entertainment system. He is knowledgeable, honest and just a class act that we would not only use again but have also referred him to so many of our friends.
