Instruction & Training

About 70% of my calls are calls to assist in training people with their Apple iMac or Macbook computers. Many people have Mac computers, but really do not know about all of the wonderful things, (other than the internet, email, and a sleek interface), that Mac’s have to offer. For example, I recently trained a client and they asked what the icon for Photo Booth was. After showing her just that one small application, it opened up a whole new world for her and her grandchildren that she didn’t even know existed on her very own Mac computer.

Consulting Services

Many of my clients aren’t really sure what their own needs are. I, being in the IT industry, always have my finger on the pulse of the technology world, therefore, I know of virtually every product on the market, PC or Mac related. With this knowledge, I can point you in the right direction and help to decide just what components that you need in your system setup. I am very good at offering my opinions after hearing my clients’ needs, and pointing them in the right direction. After all, how would you feel if you purchased a $2000.00 iMac, only to find out a month later that all you really needed was the $1200.00 one?

Apple iMac, Macbook and Mac Repair

I can repair many problems with all generations of Mac computers. From hardware upgrades such as adding memory and replacing hard drives, to troubleshooting your operating system, to recovering / transferring / backing up data.

Although I am certified through Apple with an ACMT Certification to cover all repairs on Mac products, I am currently choosing to assist with the more minor issues such as the ones listed above, until I join and am accepted into the Apple Consultants Network. This simply means that I will not be replacing screens or main boards, but will continue to assist in memory and hard drive upgrades as well as operating system troubleshooting, upgrading, and reinstallation, and other light repair and troubleshooting work for Mac and Apple products.

Testimonials and Reviews

Here is just one review from one of my clients. Please feel free to read more testimonials, here.

(Reference and Testimonial phone numbers upon request.)

I recently had the GS out to repair our desktop. After going through all of the motions to schedule an appt (press 1 for english, leave a mesg and someone will call you back in 30-45 min, etc) we were able to schedule an appt for 3 weeks out (first available day a tech would be in my area, then someone would need the be there between 8 and 12). When the tech called to tell me he was on his way I asked if he could also look at our laptop while he was there as it was running very slow. He advised me that he could not because that was not on his work order. I would need to call and schedule any additional work. The tech was able to get my desktop up and running again. 2 weeks later we had a different problem with the desktop - I reluctantly called the GS again only to be told it would be 4 weeks before a tech could come out. Thats when I decided to look for someone local that has pride in his work. After reading several reviews, I called Cobalt and wow, Jason answered the phone. He came out that day and not only fixed our problems but took the time to explain everything he was doing as well as give us some advise going forward. It was a real pleasure dealing with Jason and after meeting him once I consider him a friend. I have since started using him for my business as well. I will never use a company like the GS again. I can assure you that this is my first review and I have no agenda. Matt - Feb. 26, 2010

My Rate

It is no secret, and I’ll post it right here. I charge a flat hourly rate of $59.00 per hour. And since I am mainly a mobile based business, I never charge more to come to you. There is a 1 hour minimum on all of my calls, and after the first hour I charge by the quarter hour. So you can keep me as long as you like, or send me on my merry way as soon as you feel that you have achieved the level knowledge that you set out to acquire with me.

Also, I have a very strong work ethic. That being said, if you are not happy with my service, or I am not able to fix your problem, I will not charge you. It wouldn’t be right.

My Experience With, and How I became a Mac Addict

I myself made the switch to Apple Macintosh computers in April of 2008 after getting fed up with Windows Vista, and I have to say, I have never been happier with the overall and day to day performance of Apple’s operating system and products.

So impressed in fact, that I immediately went for my certification in repairing Apple computers and supporting their products.

I received my certification in February of 2009, and became an Apple Certified Macintosh Technician [ACMT].

I am currently working towards other certifications with Apple, and will eventually become a participating member of the Apple Consultants Network.

Please feel free to give me a call. I most likely can assist you with any of your Apple questions or needs.
